Here are some interesting columns and articles I have read recently.
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman on a Plan B for Iraq. I personally think his ideas here make a lot of sense, as it doesn’t seem that there is anything more stable about Iraq right now than there has been in the past three years.
Excellent profile of a Georgia town that has seen their town’s Hispanic population increase by 14 percent in the past 15 years. There’s some material in here that I wholeheartedly dislike, but it’s a really well-done piece of journalism. It looks like the Times is doing a series on immigration in the South, so check back for more pieces if you are interested. Also, check out this map of increases in immigration by U.S. county.
Finally, a sort of shout-out to my new industry, check out this piece on the marketing of prescription drugs among physicians. For the record, my company only sells vaccines and medical supplies, and I work on the inside sales part of the equation – no lunches.
